Amanda Cramer sent us a
note: “Amicably left my job of
nine years at the end of May. I
am taking my first wine-grape
harvest off since 1999. If you
enjoy drinking Niner, please
continue to do so but do so
knowing that I am not respon-
sible for anything made after
the 2012 vintage. Wineries don’t
typically hire during harvest,
so I am enjoying a sabbatical
of sorts, being soccer mom and
volunteering to help “green”
my son, Tomas’s, elementary
school. I am also attempting to
grow veggies in the backyard
and training our beautiful black
Lab puppy, Sofy, hoping she will
somehow turn out to be more
obedient than both my hus-
band and child. I am planning
to attend the 25th reunion and
hoping to see all of you there!”

the mom of two busy boys who
keepme onmy toes. Parenthood
is a very humbling experience!
My fourth poetry collection, The
Lava Storyteller, was published
in June by Red Mare Press. My
poem – “Sacred Outlines” – will
be read at a special jazz vespers
service at St. Jude’s Anglican
Church outside of Toronto. It
will be paired with a painting by
Canadian artist Derik Hawley
and accompanied by improv
jazz (inspired by the poem and
artwork) on October 6, 2013.
An update from Anne Brum-
ley: “Rob and I are happy to an-
nounce the birthof our son, John,
born onMarch 17, 2013. He joins
his siblings, Blake (12), Grayson
(9) and Hayes (6). Looking for-
ward to reunion next year.”
This from Brian Berlandi:
“The Berlandis are well and still
living in Sherman, Conn. My law
firm (www.bnrllp.com) is in its
third year and going strong.
Katie continues her work for
the Guideposts Foundation and
her interior decorating busi-
ness. Amelia (12) is in seventh
grade, Eloise (10) is in fifth
grade, and John (4) is in pre-K.
All are healthy and happy. We
spent two days this summer
in Denver with the Kolojays,
which was fantastic as usual.
Mike Ricard , Kolojay and I are
heading to Charlotte in Novem-
ber to stay with the Tenzers for
a weekend of golf and to attend
the Pats Monday Night Football
game in Charlotte. Can’t wait to
see everyone at reunion!”

Richard Tchen and Hilary
Hertzler were married last Sep-
tember at the Hertzler family
farm in Elizabethtown, Pa. The
Buddhist/Quaker ceremonywas
officiated by Hilary’s uncle, who
married her parents on the very
same spot. Guests from as far
away as Brazil, Sacramento, and
Belgium enjoyed the music of a
klezmer brass band and planted
500 trees. Van Taylor attended
from Texas, and follow-up cel-
ebrations in the Philadelphia
area have included John Zurn,
Phil Price, Dave Fleischner,
Amachie Ackah ’90, and Chris
Simpson. Chris’s Wine Thief
Bistro in Philadelphia has been
a happy venue for get-togethers.
Helen (Lee) Bouygues
launched her own restructuring
consulting firm, Lee Bouygues
Partners, two years ago and
has grown the group to include
more than 10 consultants. She
is still based in Paris (approach-
ing 10 years there). Helen and
her husband, Bruno, spend at
least two weeks in August in
Nantucket every year with their
daughter, Daphn é (3). So far,
Dee Steel , Janice Lee ’90, and
José Leos have visited while
passing through Paris, and she
welcomes all other SPS friends.
John Jameson FitzPatrick
(aka Fitz) married Katie Hen-
derson on July 13, 2013, at
the FitzPatrick family camp
in Montpelier, Vt. José Leos
and I were happy to reunite
with Fitz there for a beautiful
outdoor ceremony that ended
with fireworks, fire lanterns,
and fireflies, with many of
the guests staying on to camp
through the weekend.

August 1, 2013, I was pro-
moted to the rank of Lieutenant
Colonel in the USAF at Wright-
Patterson Air Force Base in
Dayton, Ohio. In attendance was
Dr. Joleen White .”
