FORMNOTES
I took all the time, energy (and
stress!) that I had been pouring
into furthering other people’s
artistic visions and careers and
focused all that energy on my-
self for the first time – probably
ever. And a funny coincidence –
right about the time I was really
working a lot on my vocals and
singing, I took a quick run out on
tour working for Bon Jovi and
ended up singing onstage with
them in Sydney, Australia, along
with several of the other women
on that tour. I don’t knowwhat’s
next as we approach the last
quarter of 2014, but I have really
been feeling the pull to branch
away from L.A. to spend more
time in my home in Franklin,
Tenn
.
I love all the updates from
our formmates. Keep checking
the Form of ’88 Facebook group
and stay in touch.

“It is with
gratitude and joy that I an-
nounce the arrival of my son,
Alexander Mathew Aston,
born August 17 at 7 lbs., 9 oz.
Between mom, Wendie, and
sisters, Brooke (5) and Harley
Grace (2), his needs are sure to
be met. Blessings to all!”

Betsy Barbato La Padula
sends this news: “Beginning my
14th year teaching English at
Newark Academy in Livingston,
N.J., after taking a few years off
to be at home with my identical
twin sons. Would love to connect
with any formmates or other
alumni in the N.Y.C./N.J. area,
who have been in the military or
who are in veterans’ services. I
run a Support the Troops club at
my school and am always look-
ing for resources. Going to try
and make reunion and hoping
to see members of the Orphan-
age there.”
Jenny Petersen
sends news
from abroad: “My husband,
Mike, and I are still living in
France, not far from the Swiss
border, and working in Basel
(eight years and counting). I am
back and forth to San Francisco
frequently for my job and was
lucky enough to catch up with
Jos
é
Leos
and
David Brown-
stein
for a lovely dinner at
Jos
é
’s place last year. I have a
lanky, witty, andmath-obsessed
13-year-old stepson, who lives
in Derbyshire, U.K. We’ve had
some good adventures these
last few years, including three
weeks hiking in the back coun-
try of Mongolia, a tour around
the Baltic Sea hitting some key
cities, and a beautiful camp-
ing trip in the Dolomites. We
just invested in a rickety ’80s
Westfalia and hope to put some
serious miles on it in the coming
years. That about sums it up! I
hope to make it for our 25th.”
Seth Schelin
writes: “Here’s
my overdue update for
Alumni
Horae
. I am living in London and
working in Germany for a Ger-
man Internet company called
Scout24. My wife and I met up in
Londonwith alums
JohnMeeks

and
Adam Hermann ’91
and their spouses for dinner at
Crazy Homies. The last person
I saw from our form was
Art
Richardson
, who joined me in
Munich for Oktoberfest last
year (or was it the year before?).”

reports:
“I had
the pleasure of having
Alessia
Carega
be one of the first faces
to welcome my son as I dropped
him off for his Third Form year
at SPS. Also got to catch up
with Judge
Ayesha Brantley-
Gosine ’96
as she dropped her
daughter off. Yes, we are both
new alumni parents, and, no,
I don’t want to hear any more
comments about people feel-
ing old after hearing that. All
we did was have kids in our
early twenties, and you are all
still as young as you think you
are. It’s great being even more
connected now as an alumnus
and a parent and I’m glad to
have gotten to know alumni
acrossmany decades during the
past several years. Otherwise,
working as an NYPD detective
continues to grant me a ticket
to the greatest show on earth.
I’m still fairly new inmy current
unit, the Central Robbery Divi-
sion, which handles major rob-
bery cases throughout the city.

the glass at their wedding this summer in Jupiter, Fla. Landon

and his wife, Holly, attended.
