Greenwood Annual Report 2016/2017 10 This past year was one of celebration for the school as we opened the doors to the new facilities made possible through the generosity of our entire Greenwood Community. It was inspiring to see how parents, past parents, alumni, and grandparents all helped bring this incredible project to life. Thanks to the generosity of our Major donors during the Building Character Campaign, students now enjoy enhanced places to socialize, such as the Learning Commons and the second floor common space and study room, a new Success Centre, which is busy throughout the day, and a new theatre, digital lab, gym, fitness centre and science labs. As part of the expanded facilities, Greenwood unveiled the Wernham West Society to recognize, celebrate and thank those families that have historically given $100,000 or more to the school through their cumulative giving. As of June 2017, we have 56 families and individuals who have joined this society. Sadly, our community suffered a tremendous loss with the tragic Christmas Eve fire that claimed the lives of the entire Taber Gardner family. Scott Taber was an active and loved member of our community. To honor his memory, the school and the extended Greenwood community rallied to create the Scott Taber Fund to support future generations of students in need of financial support. This appeal raised $74,694. Greenwood has so much to celebrate! This would not have been possible without the generosity and forward thinking of our donors. Thank you for making our vision become a reality. Jamie Lougheed Executive Director, Advancement FUNDRAISING REPORT: GREENWOOD COLLEGE SCHOOL AND GREENWOOD COLLEGE SCHOOL FOUNDATION
