Towards the latter part of this school yeal' a spirit has arisen among a certain group of boys which is most unfor- hmate, that is the spirit of "loosening up." An Error. The general idea of this group would be like the following, "Oh, well, just a little while
longer, I might as well h:we some fun." The result is that the number of demerits imposed dnriug the past month was enormous and totally unnecc~sary. We arc sorry to sec this feeling for it indicates the wrong attitude. It has alwa;is

Then, too, there has not been so much goocl-fcllowshtp as there ought to haYe been. In fact, some boys ha,·c eYen ex- pressed the determination to pay off grudges. This cannot_be tolerated, and we arc glad to say that the mtmbc1· of boys w~th such a spirit is few. .At Y. E. S. we all want to lc:n·e_w1th
good will for all. In this, as in most faults, we arc convmced that there is no maliciousness but rather thoughtlessness and carelessness. The thing nectlcd is more consideration for
others.
However it is useless to say much about that which is past. '.
The important thing is to brillg this failing to. the attentiOn of you boys who are returning in order ~h~t ~t n:ay not ~e repeated in the future. Y011 have the spn·1t of \ . E. S. m your hands, and it is up to yon to make ~helast term as good as the first for next year and the succccdmg years.
