On tho dny following our defeat at the hands of .Fishburne we ngain became the victims of another terrible slugfest. The contest wns un old time batting bee, featured by lh·c home runs, four of them being made by us. Phelps went into the bux against the Holler wrecking crew, and tho he was pounded from one end of the ball yard to tho other, he managed to last the whole uiuc innings without snfieriug from a nct·,·ous hrcakdown. The cadets started with a rusl1. Fourteen bat- tcrs faced Phelps in the first inning and when the dust finally rlcarcd, ten nms had been chalked up. They scored {h·c more in the second, and then 1·eplaccd most of their tenrn with serond-stri11g plnycrs. Kenneday continued in the box how- e,·cr. From tl1is time on the game was rather intcrcstiug and we came 11car making A. ll. A. regret their wholesale sub-

Iu the fourth Johu:;ou's single followed bj successi,·c circuit clouts by Barlow and Wnlke1· brought our f•Jtal to six. ln the seventh we dro\·e Kennedny to co,·cr, and continued om attack on Rice in the followiug iuuing. In rhis session, the eiglttb, we scored :.ix runs on two errors, a hase on balls, doubles,by Mead and Ilmnphries, nnd John- ~ou's four base smash to center.
After the sc<'ond inning Phelps pitched good hnll but A. ~1. "\ .'s lead wa:; too great to O\'Crcome, although we put forth ·• g1·cut exlril, ition of hitting.
