After a two years probationary trial, this department will next yenr be di~'11ified by having a S<'parate editor to manage its intcr<'sts. This cl•auge has been made possible--and also l1i:rhly proper-by the fact tl1at next year we shall have two g.·aduatcs as students in the .school. As we did last .June, we appeal again to ilie boys who are lea"ing now to send TnE )fETEon complete information about their activities so that this section may be properly maintained.
SeYernl of last year's class have been distinguishing them- l'eh·es in track athletics. Among them is Howard Barber, who has been doing some exceptional work with the javelin for the Carolina freshmen.
A11other is Freeman Dance, who 1·an with the V. P. I. fre!lhman relay team at Atlanta in April. IIo passed thru I.ynchbnrg on his way, but was seen by only two members of the institution, since his stay was very short.
Douglas Braxton too has been a consistent performer for the Yirginia freshmen in all their meets, and has shown fine form in tl1e ((880" and the pole-vault. lie was also on the freshman t<'nm in the Penn Relay Carnival.
I.ncion Dent, of last year's class, is a member of tl•c Vir- J!inia Glee Club. lie was hero for a Rl•ort time on April 22, l.ctwecn couce•·ts at the auditorium a11d Sweet Briar.
