Home Team Amasses 84 Points to Hargrm•e's 30 and Fishburne's 28; Rain Hinders Speedsters
Men, it was terrible. Fishburne and Hargrave were in a state of col- lapse, the weather was awful, and
so were some of the times and dis- tances. Nevertheless, neither rain nor snow, nor gloom of night stayed these couriers from the slow com- pletion of their rounds. It's been a
long time since a meet around here has been run off under such abom- inable conditions as were witnessed
here this afternoon.
When the scores were added up, V. E. S. was easily the winner, amassing 84 points while Hargrave
and Fishburne were getting 30 1-3 and 28 2-3 respectively. The Bishops were clearly superior to the Cadets,

Tennis season started off with a bang today as the Bishops won over the Fork Union racqueteers in a long and hard-fought match, 5-2.
The match was played in a con- tinual drizzle of rain which no doubt slowed up the players on both teams.
After three postponements the match was finally arranged. This was the Bishops' first match of this
season. The team as a whole showed aggressiveness and punch although they are sorely in need of more
practice.
To start the winners on their way to victory Schoew and Root quickly added two points to take the lead.
Owen, after a slow start, came back strong to win and put the Bishops in a fine lead, 3-0. Walker, C., af-
ter fighting and puffing most of the afternoon, finally came through to add another point to the Bishops' margin and make the score 4-0. All looked fine for the Bishops until
