I.___L_ET_T_ER_s_ _.l January 20, 1944.
Managing Editor, THE METEOR, Unfortunately, I don't know your name.
If I did I might know you because I was an inmate of that noble institution a few years ago. I served a term of four years and was let out on probation about the spring of '41 I believe. During that time I went under the pseudonym of "Coolee- mee," and I imagine that if you were to whisper that magic name in the presence of Mr. Gannaway even now cold chills would run down his spine.
Another reason why I wish I knew your name is that I would like to express my deepest sympathies to you in the trials which you are enduring in your present position as managing editor of THE METEOR. You see, I too endured most of the trials when I held the same post my last year there. All this talk about my V. E. S. days is scaring me because it gives me the feeling of being old although I'm still just sweet nineteen and when I think of how few boys I would recognize if I went back I want to order my cane from Sears Roebuck and trim my beard.
Please give my regards to the Ganna- ways, Dawsons, Banks and anyone else that looks like he might have been there at least four years.
