Dear Mr. Gannaway:
Charlie Johnson is overseas. Hinky Joslin is with the Marines in California \Vhen his unit was shipped out, he and several ex-big leaguers were kept to form a baseball team for which Hinky is pitching. Phil Hines is a Pfc. sta- tioned in Charleston. Gillam \V ood is overseas. Harvey Ward is in the army and AI Williams is at Carolina. Bruce Farabow is overseas in the ground crew of the Air Corps.
I just went over to the Officers' Club for supper, and for nothing better to do while waiting, I dropped a couple of dimes in the slot machine and won $15.00. . . .
Today starts a new week as an officer on duty. \Ve are not flying and prob- ably won't for about another month. We are being processed and classified to determine what type of aircraft we are most fitted to fly. The fellows who are srnt here get A-20's or B-25's. I asked for A-20 and can only hope to get 'em.
Do you know where Tucker is now? W AIT.
