Donnel VanNoppen, Jr., Morgan- ton's contribution to V. E. S., has led on outstanding life here in Lynch- burg. Better known as "Mope," Don arrived lost year and promptly made his letter as a lineman on the football team. Despite the wilds of Virginia, Mope's first year was very successful. In September he came back and was awarded the following positions: counselor on Main, cap- tain of football, president of the G. A. A., editor of The Meteor, treasurer of the V-Ciub, registrar of the Vestry, and secretary of the Senior Class. Mope is very popular with the boys as well as with the Lynchburg women.
Charles Weaver come from the fair city of Richmond two years ago to make quite a name for himself here at V. E. S. "Wee-Wee" is chairman of the Hop Committee, and has done on excellent job of orranqinq the donees. He is a mem- ber of the Honor Committee, and one of Randy's boys on Third West.
George Withers, known to his friends as "Whoofers," comes from Richmond, and has become well-es- tablished at V. E. S. in his three years here. George is an upstanding mem-
ber of The Meteor staff, having ac- quired a by-line for his fine feature articles. He has been kickinq around the athletic fields, too, and though fallinq short of a letter, has exhibited excellent spirit.
John Wroth arrived at V. E. S. in the middle of lost year from Par- kersburg , W . Yo. "Ruff" has proved himself to be a good scholar, being valedictorian of this year's Senior Closs. He has shown fine spirit in athletics, too, having fallen just short of letters in football and track.
