Senior Banquet
The night of the sixth of April finally arrived, and it was with light hearts and happy voices that the Senior Class of '51 started out for The Columns where was to be held the celebrated Senior Banquet.
One by one we arrived, and feel- ing like dignitaries we were escorted to a sedate back room, where after numerous toasts and a song by, one, Ben Parrott we were served a delicious salad in little bowls. Our thrill later turned to disappoint-ment when we were told we could not keep the little bowls. However, this was long for- gotten when twenty-two luscious T- Bone steaks were set before us, sur- rounded with french fried potatoes, peas, and rolls which continued to flow in, as soon as t h e dish was emptied. And this was not all. to top the wonderful dinner we were served
apple pie alamode.
To bring the Banquet to a very
successful end, numerous "spirited" songs were sung above the echoes of a gun going off in the other part of the house. Why would anyone want to shoot themselves?
After the very enjoyable meal, twenty-two eager beavers set out for every direction of Lynchburg, to parties, shows, etc. For the night was young. However, the old hand quick- ly reached 12:00 and the class of '51 staggered back to the old school
with a wonderful night to remember and a hundred tales to tell.

Keep It Clean
Each Tuesday and Friday, there is
general confusion, when Jim Winston, Abe Frye, AI Shortt, and John Thomas collect dry cleaning with businesslike precision, combing every nook and cranny for a prospective customer. All attire having been col· lected, the clothes are stacked in neat piles in t h e hal l. A t which the proprietors retire to their abodes and gloat gleefully over their haul for the day.
That afternoon the agent from Wood Dry Cleaning comes and. chortling merrily, takes the garment, to his business establishment. After collecting ole clothes, he returns the ones sent on the previous week.
That night disorder prevails in the
vicinity of the dry cleaning room, as satisfied customers admire their spic- and-span clothes. This location is often the stage of many amusing incidents: Geek praising W & M's virtues and bowing thrice before his Indian beanie, the Second and Third West riot squads filching the cash box, and a multitude of others-some of which would bore the reader-and some that would undoubtedly end up in out censor's incinerator. The proprietors, conducting their business with a mercenary eye, issue de' boys their charmingly feline get-ups, for a small fee. So congrats, Keeds, may your business thrive.
