The Romans had a god for almost everything. One that is appropriate at this commcncemen~ time was Jan- us. Now J anus was tho old god of be- ginnings and gates, and ro be more efficient while on the job, he was furnished with two faces, one ~o look ahead and the other to survey what had already become hisrory.
So, it is as Janus that we now look forward to the new liFe some of us are commencin'), and we look back- w a r d t o s e e wha·~ h a s a l r e a d y h a d its influences upon us. The Meteor, in its small way, has attempted to record the essence of life and thought

It is, then, with a mixed feeling of relief and sorrow that we now relinquished our posi~ions to the next batch of would be Henry Luces. To them we will the problems of find. ing news that vtill keep the adviser happy, of printing enough Alumni News to keep the alumni happy, of getting everyone'$ name in print to keep everyone happy, and of toning down some of the wise remarks to keep the postal authorities happy. To them we will, also, the joys and
satisfaction of a few jobs well done, which, we realize now, they will re- member longest.
