Muse Takes Virginia
A. A. U. Javelin Championship
The annual A.A.U. Track Meet was held in Lynchburg on the 26th of Moy. The.c wc.e representatives from many colleges, hi<]h schools and prep schools from without as well as within the state. Lonnie Muse, V.E.S.'s only entry, walked off with first place in the junior javelin with a heave of 163 feet. This was two feet farther than the winning throw in the senior division; and yet it was well over 5 feet short of his personal record of 168 feet II inches. Monty White, who is an alumnus of the school and is now a cadet at V.M.I. placed fourth in the Junior division
javelin.
