"Let me go, lover"
MID-WINTERS
(Continued from poge 3, col. 3)
Thomas couldn't make it to the dance, but he was infirmed when he lost his famous knot.
Rico was seen using buckets and crying towels when Libby couldn't arrange to be present.
Turner's Anita is more in love with him than ever since she found out that Ranny was elected head lover of Second Main West.
C. R. was walking on clouds when Patsy shook hands good night with him. Boy, was his face red!
We wish to extend thanks to the Hop Committee, Mr. Lunsford and Mr. Fritz for making the Mid-Winter Dance of 1955 a huge success.
Show Your School Spirit! Join The Sunday Morning Basketball League
A t the suggestion of the lodge, V. E. S. is now holding an intra-dorm basketball league, with the cup to be awarded to the top team by the Lodge (not Willie May as at first insinuated.) A t present Third Main West, led by "Eicobar," "Waiter," "Lush," "Con," and an illegal entry smuggled in from Lynchburg, big "Bonch" Harper (or is it Nash?) are making a runaway of it. Rumor has it that Saturday night activities will soon tell on the Bonch and so the race might become more closer. R.ico and his toughs from short dorm are giving it a game try but it looks bad, as Rico and Rand don't want to share the limelight. Holding down the basement is Third West. "Driver" and "Ju dge " seem to be leading West to its doom. But wait! They might be uprooted yet.
The spot light shifts to Second W est, which is fielding almost as goofy an aggregation as third, with "Quiet Man" Jones leading scorer with a .0 I point average. However, they have threatened to put "Tex" Keefer in uniform, a strategy sure to cause a minor sensation.
There are several other teams in the running for one end of the stand- ings or the other, but they are not spectacular enough for mention here. So go out and run around or walk around for your team on Sun- day A. M.'s and get into the spirit!
