CHEMISTRY, con't. from page 9 teaches the course. The person re-
ferred to is none other than Mr. Robert Felix Gillespie, Jr.
Mr. Gillespie,
as "Durble" by his students, has adopted a revolutionary technique of teaching his course. Unfortunate!; most of his students do not seem to be able to comprehend this methoc and hence many are having difficult- with the course. Mr. Gillespie alsc manages to squeeze into one scholas- tic year the amount of information which requires two years of instruc- tion in the average public secondary school, in addition to several highly interesting and useful tidbits from his own massive reservoir of chemica knowledge.
Recently a most heinous felony was committed by some foul, despicable character who must be entirely with- out scruples. This loathsome, vile criminal stole Mr. Gillespie's notes. Needless to say, all of his studenll were greatly distressed to learn o! the crime and everyone joined ir
expressing their sympathies to Mr Gillespie in his moment of anguish Nevertheless, he has courageously advanced onward with his course much to the delight of his students and has succeeded in making it just as difficult as it originally was.
Even though Chemistry at VES is somewhat harder than th e average course, every student who takes the course and completes it, graduates with as g o o d or usually a better knowledge of Chemistry than the stu- dent who has taken two y'ears of the course in a public school.
This is the first in a series of ar- ticles intended to enlighten the reader on the subject of some of the more interesting courses at VES.
Following articles will deal with His- tory V, English IV, and others.
