Season Ends 7-9
The Christmas holidays and the flu epidemic that follov:ed left the Var- sity basketball team in bad shape for its second game against W oodberry
Forest. The hot- shooting Tigers jumped to a quick lead which they
never relinquished . This put the Bishops on the low end of the score, 72-57. Randy Longworth and Bob Peterson led VES in scoring with 15
and 13 points respectively.
An underdog team from Holy Cross
handed VES a disappointing 58-55
to the loss.
Co-captain Longworth broke a scor-
ing record set by Bill Harrison in 1962
and led VES to a 94-72 romp over Fishburne Military Academy. The old record was 39 points; Randy had 40.
