Sophomore Class Cited For Its Sense Of Unity
A Sophomore Class of fifty-seven boys met quite a demanding academic schedule and participated in varsity and junior varsity sports with encouraging results.
The class elected officers early in October. Elected to office were Charles Mahan, president, Carey Murphy, vice-president, and Cac Yoyle, secretary. Voicing optimism for the year, Mahan said, "This class seems to have a tremendous sense of unity. The class in general is showing a remarkable desire for learning."
Academically, it was a rigorous year. Subsequently, the Sophomores developed strong study habits. The National Educational Development Tests were taken in December and yielded excellent results.
In addition to academics, the Sophomores also had a strong year athletically. There was a tremendous amount of class participation in all varsity and junior varsity sports.
