Faculty Children Find Many Student Friends
The "boys" of V.E.S. are growing to manhood, but there are times when the innocence of childhood returns. Faculty children have many big brothers to feed them, open doors for them, hold them, and play with them. Friendships soon develop so that there is much
campus interaction. If Baron Currin got sick and went to the infirmary, he could expect young James Hopkins to soon be there. Gray Murray and Cary Jobe found each other mutually charming. Ian Moore was everyone's favorite, but football players laid special claim to him after he had learned all their plays. (Coach T. D. Moore, Ian's father, believes in
getting a head start.). Sarah Jenkins, the latest newcomer, found David Smythe waiting to adopt her. The dining hall was converted nearly every night into a great playground for all ages.
Jim Leath is amused at Chris McGill's opinion of a VES supper.
