Coach Jim Hornor, "we had a good season. V.E.S. could use an indoor field house to compete with the other Prep League
teams.

injuries do not necessarily mean losses. The injured wrestlers have been backed up by first-year men Charles Bond at heavy- weight, Trent "Tree" Dickerson at 185, and 7th grader David Henderson at 145. These men have come and wrestled key matches to lead the Bishops to very key victories over Fork Union and Randolph-Macon (each by one point).
As for the future of the team, there is no place to go but up. Only loosing three boys this year, Mr. Kiefer feels that by two
years from now, the Bishops will be at the top of the league. As he

Although the team did not fare as well as expected in the Prep League Tournament, placing seventh, there was some good individual wrestling, with Chris Porter and DJvid Heppner both placing second in their respective divisions. This was a big win for Porter, considering that this was his first year wrestling. Coach Kiefer feels that there could be a great future in wrestling for Chris.
Lately the team has been plagued with injuries. Captains Heppner and Dirom have both been out for the past three matches, Heppner with a hyperextended elbow and Dirom with an attack of mononucleosis which will probably take him
' out for the season. Also veteran Parks Snead has been out with a torn c a r t i l a g e i n h i s t h u m b . B u t as it is with any strong team,
Randolph-Macon. His presence will certainly be missed.
