As of this writing, the Varsity Basketball team is halfway through its schedule and has a record of three wins with seven losses. Regardless of this losing record, the young team has
shown several bright spots which leave one anticipating better results as the season progresses . Coach Bobby Lynch's ball club looked its best in its game against Prep League opponent Christchurch; the
defense forced numerous turnovers and the offense shot well over fifty per cent. The fact that the Bishops have
outrebounded eight of ten rivals is encouraging, especially when one considers that such teams as Benedictine (perennially one of the Richmond area's toughest teams) and Fork Union (which

V .E.S. The most consistent factor has
been the play of senior co- captain Bill Loftin. Playing at the forward position, Loftin, a two year starter, leads the team in scoring with just over eleven points per game. Carl Danbury, a colorful player from New Jersey, is the team's leading rebounder at eight a game, with a high game of sixteen. Starting
center Jim Evans is the second highest scorer and rebounder.
Greg Jurgenson, team clown as well as co-captain, has begun each game at the point guard position, where he is backed up

As for the future of the team Mr. Kiefer feels that most of the wrestlers are young (only three are seniors), so it will be a year before they reach their full
strong outside game, and Edwin
Gregory, who, along with Sandy
