Late in the month of January 1978, one of the most dramatic sporting events in VES history will take place. This is, of course, the fiftieth annual Prep League
All-Star Waiters Tournament. The three day tourney will be held this year in the ballroom of the Statler Hilton in New York City.
The Bishops will send an eleven man squad to compete in the prestigious tournament. This squad will consist of seven waiters, two coaches, one

Jim Pettyjohn, coach of the successful team, was pleased with the team's success. He admitted that he thought that
they didn't stand a chance in the contest, but now he feels that they have a good shot at taking the state title; and if they meet victory there, they could
conceivably go to the Nationals in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Pettyjohn is searching for a surprise to take

Several injuries have sidelined
top waiters of last year. Junior star of last year, and now head coach, Paul Holmes, was lost to
the team last month when he suffered a severe wound to his thumb while zipping up his pants.•Paul is, nevertheless, very enthusiastic about the tourney, and when interviewed while he was watching Speed Racer the other day, Paul exclaimed, "I can't wait." Others on the injured reserve list include Dan Daugherty (pulled groin), Brian Grieves (sore ankle), James Hopkins (scurvy), and Lee
Parker (mental disorder). Despite the loss of the highly talented individuals, faculty
advisor Steve Culbertson feels optimistic about the outcome of the tourney, saying that he thought that Woodberry and St.

In a recent interview, Private

The program will also feature study-abroad opportunities such as the one-year study programs in Rhodesia or scenic Uganda. Another program offers the student a one year course in Military History with modern accomodations in Viet Nam.
