Under the direction of Mr. James Hopkins the prima- ry goal of the English Department is to make the stu- dents aware of the many principles and tactics of good writing. The English Department consists of Mssrs James Hopkins, Mark Armstrong, George Berry, Bruce McCormick, John Foster, Henry Wilson, James Hight, Frank Kiefer, David Brown, and Mrs. Martha James.
These teachers expose their students to a variety of ' styles and prose. Familiarizing the students with great literature, combined with grammer and intensive in- struction in composition, prepare the student to state
his thoughts and ideas more clearly.
