The Student Vestry is comprised of nine members, each with his own responsibilities. Under the supervi- sion of the Rev. Ralph Pitman, the Ve~try is in charge of maintaining the chapel as well as participating in many jobs in the Lynchburg commu- nity. It is also the Vestry's duty to encourage a Christian atmosphere within the school.

Student Representatives are a new idea at VES. The student body elect- ed eight students to the four major departments that govern the school. The representatives sit in on all meetings of their assigned depart- ments and take active roles in their
decisions. These representatives are another way in which the students are getting involved in the governing of the school.
