A lot of students may be ask- ing what our single teachers do with their free-time. From my re-
search, I have found that our respected members of the facul- ty do not live the life of typical students. The Terrible Trio
(Messrs. Stancill, O'Brien, and
Selinger) are quite the talk of
Lynchburg. These three fine -
teachers venture out into the night just looking for touble. They find their satisfaction at various establishments about town. After one such venture, Mr. "O'Brian played fireman and
doused the fires of many 3rd jett residences with his squirt gun.

possible that Mr. Boney has a "diamond" in his eye, though.
I didn't think that Mr. Hight, our mild-mannered librarian, was interested in the singles
scene. Little did I realize that Mr. Hight becomes the life of the party whenever he goes to par- ties. Mr. Hight is really a smooth talker. For some strange reason, Mr. Hight likes birds. When
questioned, he mumbled some- thing about "feathers and stones." I just can't figure out what he means by that. I've thought about it so much that "I've got a headache. I guess I'll
go to the nurse."
. The way in which Ms. Dymond spends her free time is a mystery to everyone. Daryl's clandestine manner and elusiveness have made it difficult for reporters to
trace her movements. Oc- casionally she has been heard banging on the piano, playing Bach or choir music during her free hours. A reliable source even reported seeing Ms. Dy- mond at the Ramada Inn Disco
and Swinging Singles Bar. Is this true? Is Daryl a swinging sex pot in her free time?

round Mr. Mundy. This report- er was told (from a confiden- tial source, of course) that
Mr. Mundy was very effective at picking up Lynchburg's finest ladies. This source said some- thing about his bedroom eyes,
but we will skip that. On the other hand, another source told me that Mr. Munday is the Strike-Out King. This could be a great exclusive, but more on that next issue.
Mr. Bowden is said to be one of the most successful bachelors here at VES. The girls must go
for his hot imposted car. "Big Bob" does venture out on week-
ends, sometimes even returning with a smile on his face. Could this mysterious smile mean that good old Big Bob scored? Ha.
Mr. McCormick and Mr. Boney
required the most extensive
research. Mac returns to Halifax to check up on his farm girls
down there. Since Mac isn't start- ing any new affairs in Lynchburg, it is safe to assume that he is re- kindling old flames back home. What I want to know is: Why
doea Mac like to surround him- aelf with jiggling pre-teens at dance•? Why did Mac volunteer to be head of activities? What doe Mac do in the dark recesses
of th gym during mixen? Doe• Mae have a fetilh for girt. half hil age? On the other hand, Mr.

The problem of impeded com- munications between the ad- ministration and the day parents has troubled V.E.S. for years. A
major step towards improving this communication was taken last year with the establishment of Day Parent's night. Although
Day Parents are most welcome and encouraged to attend Parenti Weekend conferences,
'tbur lifetime bank
the conference time is often dominated by visiting boarding parents. Day Parents night pro- vides an opportunity for formal di and one-to-one con ferences with teachers.

mosphere and open discussion. Registration was held from 6:30 to 7:00 in Jett parlor, con- ferences from 7:00-9:00 and a reception from 9:00-10:00 in the library. Leebo McLaughlin,
chairman ofDay tudent Affair was pleas d with the 50 percent turnout but would like to aee
attendance approach 80 in the future.
