On August 26, seven members
of the Cross Country team met at Mr. Eloor's house to begin the 1986 season. For the next four days with runners from Wood-
berry Forest they ran 4 to 20 miles each day on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Since that time, V.E.S. first coed team has represented
us in three meets against some of the best runners in the state.
Though we have lost our number 1 and 2 men, Frank An- drews and Max Stevens we have gained a star on the girls team· Julie Zimmerman. At the Wood- berry Invitational she placed 7th, and at the St. Chris meet last week she placed 2nd. Spirits are high as the team pr.epares for the ·
UVA Invitational this weekend.

season, 1-0.

winning season and says if the team plays up to its capabilities every game it will undoubtably
be a contender for the Prep Lea- gue title. With six returning seniors, led by cxt
