There used to be a rule that, when leaving campus, a stu- dent had to be in classroom dress. The only way to avoid this was to join the track team, because they could leave cam- pus in shorts and a shirt.
In the 1960's, it quickly be- came a daily ritual for the track team to stop by a certain lady's house while running for some lemon jello poundcake and a glass of milk. Everyone on the team loved her for it, and the tradition continued for a long while. Today, we wonder where this nice lady is ... did Mer- riweather-Godsey hire her for our dining hall?
