BIG SISTER LITTLE SISTER
Mrs. Spencer, Director of Girls' life, started off the year with a new tradition: the older girls would take an active interest in the new girls. Each old girl drew a name from a hat, and for the first six weeks of school, they left notes of encour- agement to their little sisters and also presents - all anonymously! It was a nice way to initiate the new arrivals, and it also gave the old girls a chance to meet the new- comers. Lasting friendships were struck, and hopefully this will be- come the first women's tradition at VES.
