In his three months at VES Ryan lhde made a lasting impression on those who knew him. His per- serverance, positive attitude, de- termination, and humor in the face of a fatal illness serve as a model for all. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. Whether he was in the classroom, on the athletic field, or just around campus Ryan always greeted everyone with friendliness, courtesy, and a smile. The two trees that are plant- ed on campus stand as a me- morial to a young man who in his brief life reached the full stature of manhood. -R. Maxwell Meador
