HOMECOMING
Homecoming •95 was an exciting time. Not only is the tradition of homecoming a phenominal sporting event to the Lynchburg community and Alumni, it is an outrageous week full of spirit and enthusiasm on the part of the YES community.
YES kicked offthe week with 'lackey day', where students pulled out the old clothes from years' past, or just some of 'dat funky stuff\'1no one would get caught dead in. The following day was Gender Bender day which allows us to experiment with social orientation that emerged in the late seventies and early eighties. We celebrated Gender Bender day with cross dressing and lis- tening to rock music. Then that Thursday was the amazing Garnet and Gray day, where the students dressed up in our school colors to show how much spirit YES has. This was followed by 'barnyard day' which is another history lesson taking the student body back to the time when the area around us was just farmland. The dress for this day is farm atire. The last event in Spirit Week was the •Bonfire' where each team had a skit to show the enthusiasm of the various sporting events that YES offers. We also sang songs and cheers that were led by Coach Moore. The following day YES had its first game of the season against North Cross. This was a mosting exciting win and the beginning of a successful Chapmpionship Y ear for YES.
