They had just stepped out of another meeting in which they were discussing Catholic education and accessibility, lamenting the fact that CJA couldn’t claim to meet 100 percent of its families’ financial needs. The school didn’t have the resources. “But what if you could?” he asked. “What do you mean, ‘What if we could?’” Katie responded. The couple proposed their idea: What if, for one class, they promised to cover 100 percent of each student’s calculated financial need across all four years?
