Shannon does a few mornings
at preschool. Every week is a
blur of school drop off, ballet
class, swim lessons, karate,
basketball, and soccer. In my
‘free’ time, I’ve been running a
handful of half marathons with
a few obstacle races thrown in
for fun. Had a great trip over the
summer to visit
Elda
and
An-
drew Fisher
at their temporary
Ohio digs.”
And the intrepid boat-build-
ing clan of
Sarah (Carley)
Thompson
reports, “Having
been driven back by weather on
our sailing adventure last year
(all to the good, as Sandy swept
in just about the time we would
have been rounding New York),
we made it to the Outer Banks
by land yacht instead (ancient
Volvo station wagon, gross
tonnage: 32, capacity: 1,700).
Since the work is restoration
on a replica sixteenth-century
galleon, there’s still plenty of
boat-ish activity. We’ll be back
in Maine for a while after this
winter, so if you’ve hauled out
your pirate ship for repairs
in Tortuga and are in need of
a skilled shipwright, do let us
know. Will work for rum (if the
weather’s good enough).”
And last but certainly not
least,
TimFerriss
“is now host-
ing and executive producing
his own TV show,
The Tim
Ferriss Experiment
, on truTV.
In each episode, Tim partners
with world-class teachers (e.g.,
Stewart Copeland, Laird Ham-
ilton) to show viewers how to
learn complex skills in a week.
Skills include drumming, surf-
ing, poker, golf, parkour, lan-
guage learning, rally racing, and
many more. All episodes are
available on iTunes, where the
show has 200+ 5-star reviews.
He’s working with ZPZ, the pro-
duction company that makes all
of Anthony Bourdain’s shows.

writing to verify that
Brian
Andujar ’94
is indeed alive and
well. I had the pleasure of serv-
ing as best man in his wedding,
when he married Luz Cruz on
November 30, 2013, in Puerto
Rico. The happy couple is doing
just fine.”

“My family headed to Taipei
to visit my extended family
for the holidays, and while the
16-hour flight with two tod-
dlers was something else, it
was great to introduce the little
Brandses around.
Christine
Parker
welcomed Sophia Trent
Clare in early November, join-
ing her sister, Ella (2).
Jenn
(Connelly) Garcia-Alonso
welcomed her baby boy, Oliver,
just before Christmas. He joins
sister Alexia (1).”
Speaking of little munchkins,
Courtney Marshall Corkhill
writes fromLondonwith exciting
news, “Baby Caroline was born
October 8, 2013, and joins her
brothers, Teddy (3) andWill (2).”

News from
Julian Crandall:
“My wife, Amanda, and I had
our first child, a son, Harrison
Julian Crandall, on November
15, 2013.”
Lily Wachter
sent us this
note: “Col Patrick Wachter was
(finally!) born two weeks behind
schedule on December 12, 2013,
at 2:15 p.m. He weighed in at 9
lbs., 10 oz. and was 20 inches
tall. ‘Col’ is French for mountain
pass. We passed over quite a
few on our honeymoon in the
Alps. We’re mispronouncing it
with a hard O, so like Cole but
dropping the ‘e.’”
Melinda Wenner Moyer
shared this update: “I moved
from Brooklyn to Cold Spring,
N.Y., this summer with my hus-
band and 2-year-old son Dean.
I’m the parenting columnist for
Slate
, write about science and
health for various magazines
(awesome coincidence: one of
my editors is the wife of
Matt

), and teach at CUNY’s
Graduate Journalism School.”

Jessica Liese
reports: “I am
living in New York City on the
Upper East Side. I am getting
married this February in the
Bahamas. My future spouse,
Kip Lubliner, is a 1995 gradu-
ate of the Dalton School and a
1999 graduate of Johns Hopkins.
Yes, the most unpreppy person
ever to graduate from SPS is
marrying a guy named Kip. I
was also in Providence for work
a few weeks ago and caught up
with
Justin Kisch ’98
, who is
doing well.”

“I am halfway done with my
internal medicine residency at
Tulane in New Orleans, where
I live with my husband, Daniel,
and our 1-year-old, Annie Lou.
We are enjoying the Southern
winters and amazing food, but
miss our families in Wisconsin
so will probably head back
North once I finish in June 2015.
We loved spending time with
Sarah Stehli Howell
and her
adorable men (husband and
sons) in New Orleans before
Stuart Russell ’97 and his wife,
Marley, welcomed their first
child, Stuart Hale Russell Jr., on
March 10, 2013.
