Northern Rough-Winged Swallow
Stelgidopteryx serripennis

This swallow is about 5 inches long and feeds on insects while flying, especially near water. It is named rough-winged because it has tiny hooks on the outer primary feathers. The birds make nests in cavities and crevices and the nests are usually single rather than in colonies. The call is an unmusical buzz.
