Painted Turtle
Chrysemys picta

A painted turtle about 10 inches long was seen in the vegetation of the wetland area, and turtles have also been found in the baseball field dugout. Painted turtles nest from May to July laying several clutches of eggs a year in a nest cavity. The young hatch out in about 10 weeks and are carnivorous. During the 2 to 5 years taken to mature, these turtles become herbivorous.
