Three different types of oak trees found in the wetland area are the Overcup oak (Q. lyrata), the Water oak (Q. nigra), and the Pin oak (Q. palustris).

The pin oak has a characteristic oval shape as the lower branches point downwards, the middle ones are horizontal, and the higher ones point upwards.
