TnE METEOR
I was very much shocked at the plight of tho poor fellow and promised to do all in my power to aid him. I went out and loft him sitting there, and slowly a brilliant plan oc- curred to me. I went immediately outside, and collecting as many of the boys as I could, told them about the condition of the poor Editor-in-Chief. They jumped at the idea of helping him and at once set off in a run for tpe classroom. I followed slowly and this is what I heard:
"Say Guy, write about teachers. They're meaner than ever this year!"
"Lemme write it! I want to tell 'em how well I played on the football team this year!"
"Shut up, nutI You didn't even go out for football!"
"Give 'em a spiel about letting the boys go to town every Monday!"
"Tell them we shouldn't have any demerits; I think that
would be good !"
"Shut up! You've given me an idea. Go on now and let
me think. I've got to get this out soon. What f). peach of an ideaI Those crazy boys helped me, after all. I'll write about how the boys are kicking everything in the School."
The last speaker was the Ed. himself, as you most prob- ably guessed, and this is how the first editorial was written.
Why is it that with all the boys we have here in V. E. S. some one does not write some new songs~ Our school is still young, but it is imperative that we get Some New a school song, a song for our Alma Mater. Songs. It is up to the boys of the school to furnish
one. At present we have no song which really can be termed a school song. We have a very good football song, some very good yells and cheers, but no school
song.
