THE METEOR
21
To most of you this is a new idea, no doubt. We all won- der why we don't "get" a school song, but did you or I or anybody else ever stop to consider where such a song could be "gotten"1 If you have never thought about it in this way before, let's get down now and work up a good song!
And while we are working over a song we might throw off a few new cheers and yells. We need these, not that the ones we now have are not good-because they are fine--but that we might have variety and not have so much monotony.
Let's think of this seriously and see if we can not develop some latent abilities and "get" a school song that we will be proud of!
This year, as usual, the merchants and people of Lynch- burg have given us th~ir supp~rt in the form of advertise- ments. Year by year they have done this, and we hope will continue to do so in the Advertisers. future. They show that they are backing up our :Magazine when they advertise in it. They show that they take an interest in it. We owe them our thanks for the splendid way that they have stood behind
us, and right here we wish to extend to them our heartiest appreciation for what they have done and a wish that they may continue successful.
But, did you ever think, when speaking of advertisers, that they deserve some backing up~ The boys of.V. E. S. should take an interest in our advertisers and patronize them as much as possible. When there is a choice to be made as to where you are going to get the new suit, or that new pair of shoes, why not get them from a merchant who advertises in our METEOR~ When you do that, you are backing up our
advertiser.s, and showing them that they are not advertising in Yain.
