Probably the best and closest game that has ever been played in tho Barksdale Gymnasium occurred on February 23, when the Virginia Episcopal School basket-ball team fell down iu defeat before the Lynchburg High School baskctocrs, by the score of 29-2G. The :fi1·st half was made interesting b~ the excellent passing and playing of both teams and ended w1th the score 15-14 in the visitors' favor. During the last quarter the score twice came to a tic but the last few minutes of play decided the outcome in Lynchburg High's favor.

Although V. E. S. did not win the greater part of the games played, ·we can not say that 1921 basket-ball had an unsuccessful season. In spirit and fight every V. E. S. team is successful and the past basket-ball season was no exception to the rule.
