Om first tally came in the third inning when Bnckoer won .Mr. Crockett's offer of a free "feed" by poling a long bit over "Patsy" Williams in right field. While he was r(}-
trieving the ball, Brown scored and "Buck" reacl1ed third, where he died.
R.-l\1. A. increased their lead by scoring once in the fourth and fifth innings and twice in the sixth.
In the sixth we threatened a score, when Buckner tripled for a second time. lie faned to touch :first, and so om rally in this frame met an cnrly end. The next inning witnessed our chief contribution to the aftemoon's fun. ·with the
bases choked, Banks emulated the athletes of story-book fame - t o some practical ach·antagc- when he smacked the ball to the hill country for three sacks - and three counters.
The game was, l10wcver, safely stowed away in the eighth with two more runs scored for R-)L A., Smith scoring on Coslyn's triple. The latter also scored when "Patsy" Wil-
liams, in a spirit of retaliatio11, singled. ' Ye went down in 1-2-3 order in the last frame and this very interesting contest
was over.
