As n whole, it is gratifying to observe upon close inspection of the :;tntistics that practically no young boys smoke, that a. large percentage of smokers do not indulge tho habit here, and that m:llty who do are conscientiously attempting to break themseh·es of smoking and to uphold the school's 1·egulntious more C'Olllplctely. It is also encouraging to note thruont the papers the really deep concern manifested by the boys in ar- ridng at a solution of the problem, consonant with the high- est interests of the whole school.
A l'CC?n~ visitor was Royall Smithed, who plans to reenter V. E. S. m the fall.
Mrs. Bank's parents and two of her brothers have been welcome guests during finals.
:Mrs. Chnflin and Toby :Moore were also here for a few days to witness the graduation of Miss Leavell. from R.-M. W.O.
