THE METEOR ST. CHRIS. GAME

bration, but Mr. Bond came to the rescue and permission was granted for a bit of legalized whoopee.
Preparations were rushed to give the victorious ''Garnets" a royal welcome. Abernathy "Alley Cats" were charted to sur ply the noise.
Streamers were placed on the bridge and all over school. A huge
bonfire was built and school songs and cheers of bygone days were
brought forth.
The bus drew up, the fire was
lighted, a terrific noise rent the air. The victorious Bishops filed off the bus amid a shower of confetti. The Alley Cats led by the trumpet of Seager, W., and flute of ''Han'some Harry" Hughes added to the cele-
bration.
Spurred on by Bryan Broadfoot
the students really "put out."
Mr. Costolo gave a very abbre- viated speech, as did Captain
Charlie Schoew.
The big water tank received its share of attention when the score in large red letters appeared next day on its side.
V. E. S.-R.-M. A.
(Continued From Page Three.l went over to R.-M. A. on downs as
the threat failed. McFall took over the ball totin' for the visitors, but as the first half ended he had gained no ground.
In the early minutes of the third quarter, it was "Bouncing Bobby Barco" who first found the promised land and sent V. E. S. in the lead
6-0. The conversion was no good. This score was greatly aided by McFall of R.-M. A., who was pen- alized for interfering with a pass receiver. This penalty put the ball
on R.-M. A.'s 13, and it was then that Barco cracked center to pay dirt.
Later in the period on a reverse from Evans to Walker, Walker clipped off 16 yards. After two suc- cessive no gains, Barco kicked out
on the visitors' one-yard stripe. Forced to kick from his own end zone, McFall's punt was blocked by Whitaker, V. E. S. 60-minute cen- ter, and a safety resulted. The score board then showed V. E. S., 8; R.-M. A., 0. The remaining part of the third quarter afforded no real gains for either team, and both were rewarded with one 15-yard penalty apiece.

only a yard gain. Then a running pass to Walker, who had completely evaded his man and was in the end zone was completed, this being the first score for the visitors. Johnny Dashiell th en kicked the pigskin be-
tween the uprights, making the score 7-6 in favor of the Bishops.
Big Johnny Dashiell kicked out on the 35 and three unsuccessful at- tempts to gain netted nothing for the Maroons and they were com- pelled to kick. E. H. S. recovered the kick, but a penalty on the play called it back and they re-kicked. W alker made two through center and Schoew kicked. A pass from West to Harrison of E. H. S., netted them 30 yards and a first
down. West picked up two and an- other pass from West to Burnett making four, and Burnett another four through the center was a first for E. H. S. West took a short one from Burnett, and second down broke away through the whole team, running 34 yards to the one-foot line and plunged for the score on
the next play. V arner's punt was blocked by Edmunds.
Varner got off a poor kick, re- turned by Forster five yards. Evans drove thro ugh center for three and Barco made two on a reverse. A pass was good from Schoew to Barco for 15 and a first. Evans and Barco picked up nine off tackle, and Schoew four around end for an-
other first in Maroon territory. Schoew picked up two yards at- tempting to pass, but had to run. Then Schoew through a long pass to Waldo Forster, who caught it and after juggling it for a few sec- onds wrapped himself around the
goal post. Dashiell kicked the point, making the score 14-12 for the Bishops.
Dashiell kicked out, and Neff on three line plays made it a first. Neff and Davis picked up another ten, and the half ended.
A t the beginning of the second
other pass from Schoew plus a good little sprint by Dashiell made an- other score for the Bishops. Johnny again kicked the point, this putting the Bishops ahead by two points.
The kick off went out on 34. West completed a pass to Neff for five. Two line plays they made it a first. Neff made two more and on another pass made 15. Neff picked up Jive and passed to Harrison, which was good for a first.
W est tried one to Harrison, but fell incomplete. A fumble and an- other incomplete pass gave the ball to the Bishops, ending the scoring
threat.
Two tries at center gained
nothing and Schoew kicked. Neff made it another first on first play. West received a penalty on second. On the next play Bobby Seager, alert guard playing heads up ball, snagged a pass from Jim West in- tended for Neff, and galloped down the field for a score. Johnny Dash- iell made the point and the score stood with the Bishops nine points out in front.
Neff made a beautiful return of Dashiell's kick-off, but was stopped on. the 47. Four attempts to keep gomg were all to no avail and the ball went over to the Bishops. Jess
Jackson smacked off tackle for a yard and Charlie Schoew made four and the game was over.
