The highlight of last month's el'cnts was "Chops" J..Ioncure's journey to Richmond over Thanks- gil'ing, 'parked hy his cool audacity toward ,,·omen, and his love of bev- erages. .\crompanied by two in- nocent lambs, he showed Richmond what V. E. S. will do to a person.
Parrott and Pritchard were stranded up at liickory Lodge un- der the false pretense of deep snow, and it is rumored that they caught an abundance this is getting deep, too.
The .., ... Club treasurer and Mr. Gannaway resorted to trig in order to compute "~[ole's" phone bill ele- ,·ated bv his "doin's" to Norfolk.
Grah~m Koch was scheduled to a p p e a r a t t h e Ranclolph-~Iacon dance in person, but being unable to be pre~ent, Frank Sinatra substitut- ed for him. Of course, the crowd was deeply disappointed by Grah- am's absence.
"Butt" \ \'illiams was forced by "Hatty" Adkerson to return records and ashtrays acquired by goats over the week-end. This marked the be- ginning and end of the "Crisco Kid's" career as a pawnbroker.
Jim Ballou and "Jewlia" Ivey hal'e decided to inherit either Gug- genheimer·s or Oppleman's stores when they get married.

Goats Butted
After the painting, pla:-,tering and general remodeling of the "V" Club, eight goats* were formally intro- duced to the "Big Wig." It seems that he (the Big Wig) made quite an impression on the "goats" from one angle or another. Before this )[r. Gannaway had held a council of war with the initiates while the "\'" Club was planning its attack.

the eyes of the old "V" Club mem- bers an element of fiendish glee.
There was another group of boys at that time that had become very apprehensive lately. Almost every one of them had selected a plank, and as they carved, they would burst forth with a bit of forced laughter e\'ery now and then.
Yes. the \'arsity Club initiation was nearing for those who had made their major letters for the first time at \'. E. S. The goats had been toughened by football and might have been expected to go through easily, but by supper time they were a very ragged and dis- couraged eight-victim crew.
The prospective members were Arthur. Ballou. Barge, Gaul, Gtm-

The dreaded Sunday night came finally and both groups retired to the gymnasium to participate in un- publicised activities.
The tmtratron ended l\londay morning. All of the goats passed. They are now very happy members, and no doubt, are looking forward to the end of the basketball season.
"The initiation was a complete success and the very best ever had." The boys consider this a very high compliment coming from Mr. Gan- naway. who is the faculty adviser for the ''V" Club. It was agreed by the members to keep the initiation to come on this high plan.

The innitiation was climaxed hy the solemn marriage of that most. shapely of all pin-ups, ~Iiss Kitty ~1oncure, to that cool, calm, and col- lected A. Boyd Pritchard. In other words the wedding was really "on the ball." At the wed- ding supper some of the more bois- terous "goats" actually ate and drank themsel\'es under the table.
