April 17.-A powerful Staunton
Military Academy team had two big innings as they trounced the V. E. S. Bishops, 15 t o 2, on t h e V. E. S. Field. The visitors got off to a fast start and were leading 5 to 2 at
the beginning of the seventh frame in spite of Betty's three-hit pitching. Cornet, the V. E. S. catcher, was in- jured in the seventh, and Betty was forced to fill the vacancy behind the plate. The Cadets got hot and scored ten runs in the last two innings off of
Stieglitz and Akers, who hurled the rest of the game.

cne and checked two determined rallies by the Bishops. Gordon, Bed- fo•d catcher, led his team's hitting, getting a four-bagger with two
aboard in the second, and two sin- gles. Newberry, with a triple and a double, and Lewis, with a three- bagger and a one-base knock, led the: Bishops.
First Woodberry Game 7th Game
April 27.-Shortstop Toby Han- son's single with two on in the last half of the ninth inning broke a dead- locked score to give a much improved V. E. S. team a 9 to 8 victory over Woodberry Forest in a real thriller on Langhorne Field before an enthu- siastic crowd.
Edgar Betty turned in a great per- formance on the mound for the Bishops as he scattered seven hits and struck out nine, and the entire V. E. S. team backed him up by play- ing bang-up ball all the way.
