Jan.6-Everyoneisveryeagerto return to school. Several boys have to be persuaded not to toke early trains. (P. S.-John is still in the corner pocket.)
Jan. 7-School reopens!!!! Supper is the scene of many hoppy foces, the moin topic of conversotion being the next days' lessons. (P. S.-With the oid of derricks and steom shovels, John is finally pulled down from the corner pocket.)
Also Jon. 7 - Basketboll pledge goes on!!!! However, many boys are- n't worried, because they are still ex- haling smoke from the holidoys.
Jan. 12 - "Stigleto" is reamed, steomed, and dry-cleoned by the Midwinter dance at the Naval Acad- emy.
Jon. 16-"Jim" becomes a mem- ber of that elite group of boys, known to themselves os "counselors," ond to the rest of the boys in school as the "**!!!!.£H.£[?'s."
Jon. 1 7 - The bosketball proctices for the game on the follow- ing doy, attired in helmets, shoulder pads, and hip pods.-No-they're not a bit rough!!!
Jon. 18-Team puts up o good fight (!!!!) but is unoble to overcome Hampden-Sydney's eorly leod.
Jan. 19-"Raindoins." "John," and "Stigeleto" seem to hove o very nice time staying out. (If the mountain won 't come to Mohomet, then Mo- hamet must go to the mountain.)
Jon. 20-"Footsey" and "Chick" spend all day in town playing cro- quet.-The boys on bosketba!l pledge wolk oround with their tongues hang- ing out, watching the "Off pledge" boys eat condy, ice creom, and all sorts of good things.

Dec. 20-The Library is the scene of much activity. but the boys who are there seem to have nothing to do except to write furiously, using up dozens of 366 pads, apparently ac- complishing nothing.
Dec. 2 1 -The faculty, obviously ignoring the many requests of the boys, sends the student body home for Christmas-and there were SO many boys who wanted to stay here and work!!
Dec. 25-"0ie Santa Claus" brings Cookie, Edgar, Mope and Jim each a copy of "How to Understand the Many Tricks of a St. Mary's Girl."
New Year's Eve-Edgar trips over a rug and falls down the Country Club steps.-John Hyre peeps out of the corner pocket in one of Ra- leigh's many "cue halls," and learns that it's New YeMs.-Mope races e '46 Cadillac in "Swee'pea" to cele- brote the coming of the New Year. (P. S.-"Swee'peo" won.)
