The Sportsman's Creed Th e P l a y e r :
He lives clean and plays hard.
He ploys for the love of the game. He wins without boasting; he loses
without excuses; and he never quits. He respects officials and accepts
their decisions without question.
He never forgets that he repre-
sents his school. The Coach:
He inspires in his boys a love for the game and the desire to win.
He teaches them that it is better to loose fairly than to win unfoirly.
He leods players and spectators to respect officials by setting a good exomple.
He is the type of man he wants his boys to be.
The Official:
He knows the rules.
He is foir and firm in oil decisions. He calls them as he sees them.
He treats players and coaches
courteously and demands the same treatment for himself.
He knows the game is for the boys and lets them have the spotlight. The Spectator:
He never boos o player or official.
He appreciotes a good play no matter who mokes it.
He knows that the school gets the blome or the praise for his conduct. He recognizes the need for more
sportsmen and fewer "Sports."

A Pitcher's Victory
May 6-The Virginia .Episcopal School Bishops took the1r second straight win by defeating the Fish- burne boys 5-3 on their own territory. George Andrews turned in the best pitching performance so far +~is year by giving up only three h1ts, ~ot issuing o base on bolls, and fann1ng seven. George set the Fishburne boys down, one, two, three in ev~ry inning save the fourth, when Fish- burne combined fwo singles and three Bishop errors to account for its three tallies.
The Bishops pushed across four runs in the third and then held on to this leod throughout the game. They aded another tally in the fifth to make the finol score standing 5-3 in favor of the Bishops.

May 8 - After defeating the Woodberry Forest Tigers 9-2, the Bishops, ""ith hopes of defeating .+hem again met them on home terntory. This time the revenging Woodberry nine out slugged the Bishops I1-5.
Hooker and Jomney hurled for W. F. S., while Akers and Andrews pitched for the Bishops. Hits for :the Bishops were gotten by Gower, Rink- er, G. Lewis and Shirley. Hits for the Tigers were gotten by Goston, Hurley, Robinson and Hooker.

A Victory for Team Work
Frank Akers five hit pitching was backed by the entire Bishop nine in defeating Woodberry 9-2 April 24th on Langhorne field.
The Woodberry Tigers took an early 2-0 lead after 20 innings. But the Bishops come back fighting to sew up the game with five runs in their half of the third.
Shannon Shirley started the big in- ning by gaining first by means of the error route. A single by Frank Akers and an error by Hanes put both Akers and Shirle'/ in scoring position. Infield singles by Rinker, Ogden, and Gower tied the score at two all and set the stage for Verne Dawson's three-run double.
From this point on it was the Bishops all the way. The Bishops added a run in the fourth, two in the
fifth and a final tally in the sixth. The Box:
