THE SCHOOL
A Tribute to the Foresters
Last fall, among several others, a new family came to live and work with us here at V.E.S. They are Mr. and Mrs. Forester and their son Chris. Mr. Forester came as our Chaplain and R. I. teacher, and since
th en has proven himself well with everyone here in his untiring efforts of teaching us and preaching to us about God and Christianity, as well as his many ot her duties as Chaplain. And so this article is a tribute to him in every sense of appreciation. But we cannot stop here; we are only begin- ning. Behind the good work of ev~ry man there is usually o wife and fam1ly.
Thus, our tribute here is to the Fores- ter family as a group and their friena- liness and generosity to everyone. Just ask the boys of V.E.S.
Almost any afternoon, and espec- ially on Sundays, we hove been con- tinually welcome to visit their house- hold. Let's describe one of these typi- cal visits. A group of boys enter and immediately there is food and tun. Coffee is served and cocoa. There
a re doughnuts and pretzels. W e may enjoy candy and cookies and innumer- able other good things to eat. Along with this is the delightful conve rsa- tion and fun. The house itself is de- lightful with its many pictures and in- teresting articles brought back from
Mr. Forester's Foreign missionary work in China. Then too, and most important, the people make it a lovely home to visit. Many is the boy on bounds, or just generally depressed who has found cheer and entertain- ment on one of these visits.
In short, we want to thank the Foresters for an the things they have so generously done to make our lives here fuller and happie r and more
memorable in '51 and '52. It's been g rand!
