THE STARS BEHIND THE "METEOR"
The Ole Astrologer
The Ole Astrologer ambles out of hi~ favorite celestial "Coke" joint, falls flat on his face, and finally manages to crawl over to his astronomical tele- scope and eyeball the old 160, just for kicks. The first thing that crosses his lens is a little man running around with a lot of sheets of paper in his hands. He is heard to soy, "If I can't qet elected favorite master, NO- BODY will," and with that he tears the papers up. What's more, a little later he sees the little man locking himself in his room, and then throw- ing water all over himself. This puz- zles him because he hears from the grapevine that he later received a note saying, " Love and kisses fro m the boys." He shakes his head, takes another swig of pop, and adjusts his telescope. Now he sees the leading candidate for "most conceited" ac- cepting a trophy, with Mr. G. eyeing his beard disapprovingly. His only comment was, "I deserve it." Hi s attention is attracted by a typical V.E.S. riot, but he sees os the center of it, not a counselor, but the Great White Daddy himself! The lights go out, and the hiss of water pistols is heard above the roar. All this com- motion is too much for his peace- loving nature, so he shifts his gaze again. Now he sees Three -D Magee's and Tumbleweed's former girl eeling around with Jeffries at the B. V. D. dance. At this he doubles up with laughter, and rolls on a cloud, getting stardust all over his Bermuda shorts. After sending Rock a sympathy mes- sage on the pitiful attempt of the Tigers, and Dillard a congratulatory one on his mail service (Gretchen
Express), he is nearly glancing over the campus whe"n he hears shots, and the sound of breaking glass, accom- panied by the whine of sirens. FBI with the aid of the local P.O. cleans up the Lynchburg hoods, proving crime doesn't pay. The Ole Astrolo- (Continued on poge 17, col. 3)
