John Winston Sargent (Wap)
Sarge hails from a place called Tuckahoe, in New York, and has dashed wits with the big three for the past two years. A day student, he travels in the company of Houck and Mohr, forming the third member of the trio who are best loved by Ma- gill.
Sarge has been a study-outer off and on and shines especially in the science of electronics and radio. One of his favorite pMtirnes is ringing bell s and exasperating Guru. An- other of his hobbies is winding around the demerit track under the watchful eyes of his buddy, J.W.G. Sarge is also a first-rate tennis player (as Moose will tell), and will be a leading contender for the trophy this year. He is known and liked around school for his ever dry wit and for his daring in the famous raids. Next year he is traveling up to Pittsburgh to Car-
all miss Jay next year and we all wish him the best of luck during his years at Haverford, where he plans to go next year.
Joseph Kemp Houck (Hacck)
Hacck, well-known and well-liked around the 160 acres, has fought this place for four years. During this time, he has almost consistently stayed on the honor roll. After spending the first three years as a boarding student, Hacck has joined the hard day boys for his last year. A vigorous exponent of athletics, Kemp played on the famed unde- feated J.V. football squad last year and also on Don's varsity basketball squad. This year, he was star athlete for Doc's 4-F. His wit and extra· ordinary ability in cutting people up has made Kemp one of the most popular boys in school. His artistic abilities and popularity have put him on the Hop Committee this year, and on the Meteor staff for all of his four years here. It will be a sad mo- ment when Hacck departs for U. Va. next fall.
Charlie Spencer, Jr. Every once in a while, we at V.E.S. have the pleas- ure to know and the regret to part with a boy like Charlie, but those 9f his calibre are proverbially few and far between. He has consistently been at the top of the honor roll and has continuously been at the head of all o f his classes. Charlie has always competed in the school sports and at

V.E.S. as Jay Pre.ton Moler, he has been famous in his years here for the prodigious breadth of his activity and interests. He has played varsity foot- ball, for which he got a letter and varsity track. He has constantly made the honor roll and has even found time for such extracurricular things as service on the Meteor staff, in the Syndicate and in Spanish II. We will

the beginning of the fall this year was inopportunely removed from the varsity football squad by a se rious shoulder injury. Thus it is not hard
to realize that, having done so many things to such a degree of perfection, he was appointed a counsellor this year. Charlie's honors and activities in themselves speak for the undoubt- ably promising career ahead of him and for our confidence in him that goes with it.
