V. E. S. vs. AUGUSTA MILITARY ACADEMY
The Bishops turned a strong pass- ing and running attack into a 20-0 win over the A. M. A. cadets.
Brent Nash recovered a fumble on the A. M. A. 14 yard line and five plays later, C. R. Jones plunged over from the one yard line.
Later in the opening period, Farin- holt hit Jones with a flat pass and Jones scooted to the 16 yard line before he was stopped. Then Farin- holt hit Dillard in the end zone for
the touchdown. McKee's try for the extra point was good.
The final Bishop touchdown came when Farinholt skipped 23 yards around end on an option play. Mc- Kee again tacked on the extra point.
A. M. A. put up a good fight all the way. Their passing attack at times was great, whi le their defense was tough throughout most of the game.
V. E. S. vs. WOODBERRY After being pushed around a bit in the first half, the fighting mad Bishops stormed back in the 3rd period of our homecoming game to defeat the Woodberry Tigers 7-0. Woodberry, a two touchdown favorite before the game, dominated the first half, but it was the Bishops who took charge in
the all-important second half.
The Bishops started their drive on their own 40. Farinholt went around end for 16; Keefer plowed to the Woodberry 32 for the second Ist down in a row.
Cranz then hit Farinholt in the 12 yard line with a pass. The tough half- back was pulled down inches short of the goal line by the Woodberry defenders. Two plays later, Farin- holt took it around end for the score. McKee's placement was good to make the score 7-0.
In the first half a number of Tiger drives were stopped short of the goal. They actually scored once but were called back on a IS yard penalty.
Dilla~d. Matthews, Nash, Jones, Farinholt were all over the field on defense. Credit should go to the en- tire defensive team for their work. The offensive team was responsible for the two long drives by the Bishops. The Bishops managed to run out the game with a 56 yard drive and were on the Woodberry 22 when the game
ended.
V. E. S. vs. ST. CHRISTOPHER A fired-up St. Christopher squad, refreshed from two weeks of rest, bounced the Bishops from the ranks
to the undefeated, 32-6.
The Saints were able to capitalize
on their scoring chances while the Bishops were not able to get their offence moving.
sixteen yards and the score.
The Saints roared back with two
touchdowns by Evans and one each by Bobo McEastern and Bill Power to lead at the half, 26-6.
The final score came with Evans and Towne doing most of the ball carrying, Towne finally shooting off a tackle to score.
The Bishops scored another touch- down, but it was called back be- cause of penalties which nullified the play.

V. E. S. vs. NORFOLK ACADEMY
The Bishops smothered Norfolk Academy under a five-touchdown blanket as they rolled to a 32-0 win.
Farinholt took the first play of the game to trot fifty-five yards around end before he was finally brought down on the five yard line. Two plays later he scooted over for the score.
Late in the first period, Jones took a pitch out from Farinholt and went twenty yards around end for the score. McKee's placement was good.
The Bulldogs showed that they will be tough next year with mainly fresh- men and sophomores who lacked ex- perience but will be rougher competi- t ion in the next few years.
V. E. S. vs. MILLER SCHOOL A Miller School t e a m which was bigger and tougher than expected gave the Bishops trouble for three quarters before two touchdowns by
the Bishops tamed them 25 to 6.
The Bishops started quickly after fumbling. Then, after stopping Miller, Cranz passed to Farinholt for the score. The attempt for the extra
r:oint was not good.
In the second period, Bishop full-
back Verne Keefer scored on a pitch out. McKee added the extra point.
Early in the third period, Miller quarterback Dick Moneymaker tossed d long pass to end Baber, who grab- bed it for the touchdown. The pass try for the extra point was no good.
