V. E. S. Gets Revenge On Bedford
The Bishops revenged an early sea- son loss to Bedford by defeating the C'•ters 52-45 on the Otters' home court.
Ale~ Chaffin's set shots were hit- 'ng from every angle as he hit for 22 points to lead the Bishops' scoring. T~e Bishops led 12-5 at the end of the quarter. The Otters were able close the margin and trailed by one point at half time. The third c 1arter was almost even and Bed- 'ord led 33-31 going into the final reriod. The fourth quarter proved be too much for the Otters, as Bishops pulled ahead to the final
"rgin of 52-45.
Contributing much to the Bishops'
was Jim Woolery, who re- nded his taller opponents, and rent Nash, who scored ten points.
water, here we come! Wonder if Carpenter will be their host?
Rico pitches his boys to an almost win over the "Big Boys." Rico, how is that arm, boy? Get another Ace brewing. Maybe Libby has some- thing to do with it.
Goon goes ape over a former N. C. girl, but he may get ambushed by the townies. Must be some pretty big boys.
Well, fans, take it easy until the next chapter of John vs. Mary. Be good kiddies and take care of the cashmere Jaguar and the suede Cad, and keep a cool eye peeled for a green and white Dodge that is the most. Be good chilluns!

and their guests are invited. How- ever, the number of guests is limited to seven-fact which is of utmost inconvenience when one considers the many social obligations one will accumulate at private homes in Lynchburg. These guests may be re- turned to their homes, but one is not allowed to stay out after seven- thirty, which is the evening meal time.
Study hall lasts from the comple- tion of the evening meal until one signifys that his studies are complet- ed, after which he is at liberty to go wherever he wishes-so long as he remains inside the county. This is very hard on students, especially when one considers that the only lake which is fit for ice-skating 1s 1n a neighboring county. During this period after evening study hall, one must report the mileage on his car, which should not be in excess of fifty miles because of the severe demand on the school filling station. Students must return to school by eleven-thirty.
A t eleven-thirty, the boys gather around the old fireplace and sing old ballads-quaint old compulsory cus- tom. Then, weary from a hard day of toil and discipline, the boys go off to bed. Yes, the discipline here at V.E.S. is hard, but we know that eventually it will pay off.
