V. E. S. Bows In First Contest With Saints
Playing in the St. Ch ristopher's "crackerbox" gym, the Bishops suf- fered a 74-49 loss to the Saints. Jack Daughtry led the Saint's attack with 35 points.
V.E.S. seemed to suffer most be- cause of an inability to work the ball in for the close, sure shots. Outside shots by Craighill and Chaffin seemed to be the only good weapon the Bishops had against their taller opponents. When these shots failed, the Bishops were unable to get the all-important second shot.
Chaffin and Nash led the attack

F. U. M. A. Defeats Bishops
The Bishops stayed close to the Ca- dets for three quarters before Bud Stacey led F.U.M.A. to a 60-38 win over the Bishops. The fourth quar- ter proved the downfall to the Bis- hops as t he Cadets outscored them 21-10. Craighill and Nash kept the Bishops close after the half, but the sharp-shooting Stacey hit from all angles to tally 22 points and be the
game's highest scorer.
The height of the Cadets actually
spelled the difference as the scrap- ping Bishops attempted to stay in the game in the third quarter. Farin- holt and Nash each scored ten points to lead the Bishops' scoring.
